The evolution of the equipment designed and built by Discovery Design Truck Body and Equipment Inc. began in the mid-1970s with a simple flatbed truck and a gas-powered conveyor that was originally intended to transport bales of hay up to lofts in a family barn. By 1978, that concept gave birth to the very first “roofing conveyor truck” used in St. Louis, Missouri, and quite possibly the entire region!
Our original leaders were former roofing installers from the 1960’s and early 1970’s. Having a thorough understanding of the roofing industry, the first roofing delivery trucks designed and built by our original fabricators and mechanics were strong, lightweight, and durable.
40 years-worth of first-hand use of the equipment and fearless experimentation have spawned innovative and cost-effective equipment that is the Discovery Design brand. Our advancements include 3 design patents which have literally changed and improved the concept of roof-top delivery. We are passionate about what we do, and our clients experience that passion when they visit us.
Realizing that everyone in the service equipment and trucking industry could benefit from our labor-saving innovations and custom truck beds, Discovery Design Truck Body and Equipment Inc. was established as an independent company in 2015. We continuously find ways to employ “mechanical advantage” into every system. Replacing the human element in favor of mechanical advantage saves labor, time and costs. Our goal is to help our customers use their brains more than their backs! Our slogan, “Innovation that WORKS” is more than just a tag-line – it is a statement of fact!
